OTR to Open Two New Stores in Horsham, Victoria

National award-winning retailer, OTR, are building two innovative retail convenience stores in the heart of Horsham, Victoria. OTR Horsham Wilson Street is due to open 12 March 2020 and OTR Horsham Dimboola Road is set to open in April 2020.

Across both stores, more than 30 new retail jobs will be created for the local community in Horsham which is crucial to ongoing employment in the region.

The exciting developments in Horsham will both offer the ultimate in convenience retailing to make life easier for locals, with all services open 24/7 including: barista-made C Coffee, an extensive range of supermarket essentials, OTR’s Eat products for food on the go, New York style Moe’s Dog & Shake, BP Fuel and a HappyWash automatic car wash at the Wilson St store.

Joann Skene, Head of Community Partnerships for OTR, said, “The OTR developments in Horsham will create 40 new jobs during the construction phase, and an additional 30 much-needed retail roles to be filled by people of all ages from the local surrounding community of Horsham.

“OTR is looking forward to opening in Horsham in early 2020. As with all our OTR stores, we aim to become an integral part of the local community and region, by supporting community groups, events and sporting clubs,” continued Ms Skene.

“We will also offer ongoing employment, the opportunity for career development and training to Horsham and its surrounding community. We proud to have secured some of the best retail talent in town to join our new OTR teams and they look forward to welcoming you into our new stores over the coming month” said Ms Skene.

From its humble inception as a single petrol station in Adelaide in 1984, OTR has grown to bring together unique retail skills and brands into a successful and innovative convenience offer. This includes global brands like Subway and Krispy Kreme, and national brands like Oporto, Wok in a Box, Brumby’s, Guzman Y Gomez and Hungry Jacks on offer at selected stores.

Additionally, OTR is a retail leader in community engagement and corporate social responsibility, including food recycling through Foodbank which has created over 200,000 meals in the last 12 months for families in need. OTR will also provide life-saving access to public defibrillators at all their regional stores, including both stores in Horsham.

As an Australian family business operating for over 30 years, OTR has more than 150 stores and employs over 3,200 people within OTR. The Horsham stores will be Victoria’s third and fourth OTR stores after Irymple (which opened in 2015) and Portland (June 2019).

Recently, OTR has been recognised with numerous national awards including the ‘Large Retailer of the Year’ at the 2018 National Retail Association Awards, and the ‘2019 Young Retailer of the Year’ award for OTR Area Manager, Aled Ball.

These new developments in Horsham come just over a year since OTR launched its innovative community program OTRGive in June 2018. Every time a customer shops or refuels at OTR with the OTR App, OTR will make a donation on the customer’s behalf to the community group of their choice – at no cost to the customer. To date, OTRGive has created over $255,000 in donations and Horsham community groups joining OTRGive will be announced in early 2020.
